Visitors to breathing space at York St Mary’s

A Year at...
York St Mary's

In May, York St Mary’s opened with its first site specific contemporary art installation. Our intention is to commission one new work each year from an artist which will respond to the interior and history of this beautiful 15th century church. Caroline Broadhead created the first installation in what we hope will be a series. The work was called breathing space and was an evocative work that redefined the internal space of the church. This commission was made possible with funding from the Arts Council Yorkshire.
