The Memory of Place at York St Mary's
York St Mary's
York St Mary's reopened with a new installation The Memory of Place by the artist Keiko Mukaide which was a great success and attracted more visitors than any of the previous three exhibitions of contemporary art.
Visitors to York St Mary's will know that we have been developing this as a venue for contemporary art in the city. Since 2004 we have shown four exhibitions, three of which have been site specific installations commissioned by the Trust from three artists. The programme has been supported by Arts Council Yorkshire.
