What our visitors think

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the staff at the Hospitium for a truly wonderful wedding. We've had so much praise from guests about what a fantastic venue the Hospitium was, how stunning the food was and what a lovely atmosphere there was to the day. Thanks to all involved for helping to make our big day so special.

York Venues is a developing part of the Trust's work. The refurbishment of the Hospitium was a major project that took place over the winter, reopening in March 2008. As a Grade 2 listed building situated in the Museum Gardens, we had previously managed to run it as a conference, meeting and wedding venue with no toilets or running water. The project included the removal of the central staircase, creating two beautiful spaces which we soundproofed so they could be used independently at the same time. We also installed a lift, a kitchen, a new stairway and most importantly new toilets and running water for the first time in its history. The new Hospitium has been very well received by everyone and bookings are doing extremely well. The Hospitium will be the centre of the Trust's conference and venue hire business.
