York St Mary’s
We commissioned our second site-specific installation for York St Mary’s which was again inspired by the interior and history of this beautiful 15th century church.
Echo was created by Susie MacMurray, who filled the nave with 10,000 hanging hairnets that held within them rosin-covered horsehair from violin bows. The installation was beautiful and its fragility evoked poignant feelings about life and death
The installation opened in June and ran until October and was made possible with a grant from the Arts Council Yorkshire.
